Introducing Summit Steel Buildings
Located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Summit Steel Buildings is a premium supplier of pre-engineered metal structure systems led by a team of experienced pre-engineered steel building professionals with over 40 years of combined experience.

Summit Steel Buildings uses efficient engineering and manufacturing techniques to achieve an optimal design within any budget. Their in-house architectural team works directly with clients and the Double Black Construction team to ensure each aspect of building design is completely precisely to spec. All their buildings are engineered to meet rigorous code standards throughout Canada and the world.

Their fabrication facilities are all AISC, CAN/CSA A660, CWB certified, members of the CSSBI and IAS AC472 Accredited for Metal Buildings. Stamped engineered structural drawings for permit and construction are provided for every building for any province or territory. Every building they deliver is fully customized and engineered to the precise requirements of the client’s current and future operational needs.

Versatility is essential to be a building solution provider. While Summit Steel Buildings strictly focuses on commercial and industrial facilities, they have quickly become the builder of choice for top Canadian companies within the materials, resources and heavy industry sectors – those who require the most durable and structurally sound buildings that can be built quickly and affording able for manufacturing, warehousing, mining, forestry and agriculture purposes.

Summit Steel Buildings is a member of the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) and regularly participates at Canada’s most significant trade shows, such as Forest Products Machinery and Equipment Exposition (Atlanta, GA), Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (Toronto, ON), Ag in Motion (Langham, SK), Outdoor Farm Show (Woodstock, ON) and MJBizCon (Las Vegas, NV). The insights and relationships earned at these shows has allowed the company to expand quickly and become influential and authorities in the pre-engineering manufacturing space.

Providing Precision and Structural Integrity Throughout Manufacturing and Engineering
Summit Steel Buildings’ engineering solutions are professionally designed and delivered directly to the job site. The key to providing strength is the use of cold-formed steel beams, panels and components. All the building materials arrive to the jobsite pre-welded, pre-cut and pre-hole punched to reduce construction times, add more engineering accuracy and save on labour costs to keep projects affordable. Most of the assembly work is done ahead of time at one of the company’s four fabrication factories strategically located across North America and then shipped to the jobsite for quicker installation.

Cold-forming process is done at or near room temperature and results in typically harder and stronger steel (in tensile strength) with less surface imperfections than hot rolling, which is roll-pressed at very high temperatures (over 1,700 degrees Fahrenheit). Cold-formed steel excels as load-bearing structural elements (such as framing and joists) in commercial buildings of any size. It’s also more resistant against tension breaking and deformation.

One of their competitive advantages is that Summit Steel Buildings’ engineering relies on Building Information Modeling (BIM) for every project design. BIM uses three-dimensional software to more effectively design, detail, manufacture and erect steel buildings. It generates and manages building data and its various components throughout the project’s life cycle by creating real-time advanced testing so manufacturing processes are much more precise and structurally sound. Dynamic building modeling software is recognized as industry-leading technology that increases productivity in building design and construction.

Strong Partnerships Increase Your Project Success to the Power of Two
Summit Steel Buildings relies on Double Black Construction as one of their authorized builders to provide clients with the most cost-effective solution while ensuring their metal building is engineered to meet and exceed the rigorous environmental conditions around the world. When require the most durable engineering to ensure your new facility lasts a lifetime, then hire the preferred installation company that brings the benefits of a partnership with North America’s premier pre-engineering manufacturer.
